Respected Insider Convinced Vikings Will Sign Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers continues to keep the NFL world waiting, with the future Hall of Famer’s decision for the 2025 season reportedly holding up the quarterback market -and leaving teams like the Steelers and Giants in limbo.

Interestingly, another team who was recently reported to be out of the running for Rodgers could very well be back in the mix.

Appearing on The Dan Patrick Show, Dianna Russini of The Athletic made it clear that she’s sticking to her stance that Rodgers will wind up with the Minnesota Vikings.

“This is a guess! This is a guess! I feel like we just need to emphasize this. I think Aaron Rodgers is going to be a Minnesota Viking,” Russini said.

According to Russini, Rodgers has not given up on the possibility of joining the Vikings, even though the organization has publicly hit pause on that idea – at least for now.

“The Minnesota Vikings have spent, I’d say the last week and a half or so, having really serious discussions about what this would mean for this team moving forward if they were to bring Aaron Rodgers on,” Russini revealed.

“You had a lot of people in that building in favor of Rodgers. After watching some film of him and those guys know a lot about him, they have good relationships with Rodgers.

“So there were certainly many people with Minnesota that believed that bringing Aaron Rodgers in this season was the best thing for the Minnesota Vikings.”

Despite that internal support, the Vikings have publicly stated that they are ready to hand the franchise’s keys off to J.J. McCarthy.

“The fact that the Vikings have made the decision to table this… To say okay we want to give J.J. McCarthy an opportunity this spring, tells me that Kevin O’Connell has hitched his wagon to J.J. McCarthy and believes that this player is the future of the Minnesota Vikings… That he is the absolute best option over a hall of famer in Aaron Rodgers,” Russini added.

While the Vikings are reportedly tapping the brakes, Rodgers may still be holding out hope for a change of heart.

Russini’s comments echo recent reporting from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, who noted that Rodgers could remain an “emergency option” in Minnesota if McCarthy falters during the offseason program – especially given McCarthy is coming off a season-ending injury.

Meanwhile, both the Steelers and Giants are believed to have offers on the table for Rodgers. His lack of movement with either team has fueled speculation that he’s waiting to see if Minnesota reconsiders.

For now, Rodgers’ silence is keeping multiple quarterback dominoes from falling – and with the 2025 NFL Draft quickly approaching, teams involved are eager for clarity.

Where Rodgers ultimately lands remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: wherever he signs, it’s going to shape the rest of the offseason.

What are your thoughts on Russini sticking to her guns that Minnesota is NOT out of the running for Rodgers just yet?

When it’s all said and done, where do YOU think the four-time MVP will end up???
