In an uplifting show of solidarity, the NFL Foundation, along with the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys, has banded together to lend a hand to the Texas communities battered by intense flooding over the Fourth of July weekend. The combined $1.5 million pledge promises not only to tackle immediate needs but also to support long-term rebuilding efforts—a lifeline for those affected by this natural calamity.

As the devastating downpour wreaked havoc, it left an indelible mark on the lives of Texans, tragically claiming at least 79 lives along the Guadalupe River, north of San Antonio. This grim reality has prompted an all-out search effort in central Texas, where hundreds are still scouring the area for survivors, including young campers missing from a summer retreat.

The Cowboys, in a heartfelt statement, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy that unfolded in Kerr County and the Texas Hill Country. Their message conveyed profound empathy for the families of the young girls and all others who have faced unimaginable loss. “This has been devastating to see and we hold everyone impacted in our thoughts and prayers,” they shared, capturing a sentiment felt deeply across the state.

Echoing that compassion, Texans’ executives Cal, Hannah, and Janice McNair extended their empathy and solidarity. They promised not just financial aid but ongoing support for the crucial rescue and recovery operations in the weeks to follow. The McNairs reassured the community, “Our hearts will remain with everyone affected,” underlining their commitment to standing by those in need.
