Maxx Crosby’s unwavering loyalty to the Las Vegas Raiders is either admirable or utterly baffling. After a truly disastrous 2024 season, marked by a losing record, injuries, the departure of his close friends, and yet another coaching change, one would expect Crosby to demand a trade. He’s a star player in his prime, wasting his talent on a team that’s going nowhere fast. Why stay in a situation that’s clearly dysfunctional? Is Crosby’s loyalty a testament to his character, or is he simply making a fool’s errand?
Crosby’s enthusiasm for new coach Pete Carroll is understandable. Carroll is a respected figure in the NFL, and his arrival brings a sense of hope to a franchise that desperately needs it. But let’s not forget that Crosby has been through this before. He’s had four different coaches in six years. How many times can he buy into the promise of a new regime only to be disappointed?
