The Las Vegas Raiders are in a prime position to make a splash in free agency this offseason. With a ton of cap space and a roster that needs some serious help, they’ll be looking to add some key pieces to get back on track after a disappointing 4-13 season. One of their biggest needs is at wide receiver. They traded Davante Adams midseason, and they haven’t had a true No. 1 receiver since. But with a boatload of cap space, they can definitely afford to go after a top-tier wideout in free agency. One guy they should be targeting is Tee Higgins. This guy is a beast! At 6’4″, he’s a big, reliable target who can go up and get the ball. He had a solid season last year with 911 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, and he’d be a perfect complement to Jakobi Meyers. If the Bengals don’t franchise tag him, the Raiders should be all over him.
Another intriguing option is Chris Godwin. Raiders GM John Spytek knows Godwin well from their time together in Tampa Bay. Godwin had a bit of a down year in 2024 due to injury, but he’s a proven playmaker who can rack up yards and touchdowns. He’d be a great fit in Chip Kelly’s offense and could really thrive in that system. And then there’s Darius Slayton, who’s a bit more of a wild card. He’s got the potential to be a real steal in free agency. He’s had some solid seasons in the past, and a change of scenery could be just what he needs to get back on track. If the Raiders can bring in a decent quarterback, Slayton could have a breakout year.
The Raiders have a lot of work to do this offseason, but they’ve got the resources to make some big moves. If they can land one of these top wide receivers, they’ll be well on their way to turning things around and getting back to the playoffs. It’s an exciting time to be a Raiders fan, and with the right moves in free agency, they could be a surprise contender in 2025.
