After years of being a perennial contender, the Baltimore Ravens are feeling the pressure to finally break through and bring home another Lombardi Trophy. Owner Steve Bisciotti made that urgency clear this week, emphasizing that the team’s championship window is wide open with Lamar Jackson leading the charge.
“I want to win now,” Bisciotti said via Ravens.com. “I want to win with these guys.”
The Ravens have consistently fielded one of the strongest rosters in the NFL under head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Eric DeCosta. However, disappointing playoff exits—most recently to the Bills and Chiefs—have left a sense of unfinished business. Bisciotti acknowledged the emotional toll of coming close, only to have to start from scratch each new season.
“I hate it that every year, you just have to start back over again,” Bisciotti said. “But you know what? This is not for the meek.”
The team is fully aware that they’re operating within a critical championship window, with Lamar Jackson in his prime and surrounded by a strong supporting cast. The Ravens owner added that while Jackson is a major piece of the puzzle, the urgency to win extends beyond him.
“I don’t look at Lamar singularly,” Bisciotti said. “I want it for Ronnie Stanley, I want it for Marlon Humphrey. It just doesn’t stop with Lamar. I want it for Eric DeCosta.”
Jackson is expected to land another contract extension in the near future, and Bisciotti acknowledged the stakes that come with building around a franchise quarterback. The organization has heavily invested in weapons and protection for Jackson, and the belief remains strong that this core group can get the job done.
“I know what we can do,” Bisciotti said. “I know that we worked to put ourselves in position to win. We all get credit for that. That’s all you can do.”
While the Ravens haven’t won a Super Bowl since the 2012 season, Bisciotti’s message to the team and fanbase is clear: the clock is ticking, and it’s time to capitalize.
