Jerry Jones Drops Hint About Cowboys’ Coaching Future! (Jon Gruden?)

Jon Gruden’s name is swirling around the coaching rumor mill again, and it’s got everyone buzzing. Could Chucky be making a return to the sidelines? It’s definitely possible, especially with some recent comments from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

See, Mike McCarthy’s contract with the Cowboys is up on January 14th, and there’s no guarantee he’ll be back. Jerry Jones was recently asked about the Gruden rumors, and he didn’t exactly shut them down. He called Gruden a “friend” and left it at that. Now, he could have easily put an end to the speculation, but his non-denial has only added fuel to the fire.

Gruden’s had a rollercoaster of a career. He led the Raiders to a Super Bowl title back in 2002, but his second stint with the team didn’t go so well. He resigned in 2021 after some controversial emails surfaced.

Since then, he’s been keeping busy with Barstool Sports and his own YouTube and TikTok channels where he breaks down games. But it sounds like he’s itching to get back into coaching.

The Cowboys could be a perfect landing spot. They’ve got a talented roster, and Gruden’s offensive mind could be just what they need to get over the hump. Of course, there’s the baggage that comes with Gruden. But Jerry Jones has never been afraid of a little controversy.

If McCarthy isn’t back with the Cowboys next season, don’t be surprised to see Gruden’s name at the top of their list. It would be a reunion that would shake up the NFL.
