Is This The Year Josh Allen Finally Wins MVP?

The Buffalo Bills not only dismantled the Miami Dolphins with a commanding 31-10 victory last night, but quarterback Josh Allen also etched his name in the NFL record books.

By securing the win, Allen improved to 7-0 on Thursday Night Football, tying Carson Wentzā€™s record for the most wins without a loss by a quarterback in the Super Bowl era.

(Of course, there’s jokes to be made about that stat, but we all know Allen is on a different planet than Wentz.)

In the Bills’ dominant performance at Hard Rock Stadium, Allen completed 13 of 19 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown.

Running back James Cook added three touchdowns, while the Bills’ defense suffocated Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was forced to leave the game after suffering a concussion from a hit by Damar Hamlin.

The injury raised serious concerns about Tagovailoa’s future, given his history of concussions. Some fans and analysts have even called for his retirement to protect his long-term health.

Buffaloā€™s defense also played a pivotal role, intercepting Tagovailoa three times, one of which resulted in a pick-six, all but securing the victory.

With the win, the Bills improved to 2-0 and sent a clear message to the rest of the AFC East: they remain the team to beat, and their quest for a Super Bowl is far from over.

Allenā€™s dominance over Miami is undeniable – he holds a 12-2 career record against the Dolphins, including last yearā€™s season sweep that helped the Bills clinch their fourth consecutive AFC East title.

Despite dealing with a hand injury from Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, Allen showed no signs of being hindered. His performance alleviated any concerns Bills fans might have had regarding his health.

When asked about the team’s success, Allen credited the Bills’ unselfishness and defensive dominance.

ā€œOur defense played extremely well todayā€¦ On our side of the field, anytime we have that, the stats aren’t gonna look great for you. But the scoreboard will,ā€ Allen said after the game.

With a 10-day break before their next matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football, the Bills will have plenty of time to rest and prepare.

While everyone recognizes just how special of a talent Allen is, there’s a case to be made that he’s still underrated across the league.

Sure, his gun-slinger playstyle sometimes gets him in trouble. However, there are few quarterbacks – if any – who have more responsibility on their shoulders than Allen.

Is this the year he finally wins the MVP?

More importantly, is this the year the Bills finally get over the hump and win the Super Bowl???
