In a devastating turn of events, former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph is embroiled in a legal storm linked to a deadly accident. This case stems from a tragic incident that occurred on the North Central Expressway in Richardson, Texas. In the early hours of a Saturday, police found Cody Morris, a 27-year-old mother of two, unresponsive after a motorcycle crash. Despite the lack of other vehicles when first responders arrived, the circumstances surrounding the tragic event were far from clear.

It soon came to light that Kelvin Joseph reported his connection to this heartbreaking crash. Authorities have charged him with driving while intoxicated and a collision involving death. The accident took Cody Morris’ life, leaving her children without a mother and Joseph facing serious consequences.

In the aftermath, a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Joseph and two Dallas bars. The father of one of Morris’ children claims that the establishments continued to serve Joseph alcohol, leading to his visible intoxication. The lawsuit seeks over $10 million, aiming to address the pain, mental anguish, and expenses faced by Morris’ family.

This isn’t Kelvin Joseph’s first brush with the law. Back in 2022, he was linked to a fatal shooting in Dallas, although it was later clarified that he was merely a passenger in the vehicle involved and not directly implicated.

Kelvin Joseph, a second-round pick for the Dallas Cowboys in 2021, initially showed promise on the field. He appeared in 26 games during his first two years, making his presence felt with 40 tackles and four defended passes. However, the tide turned when he lost his starting spot to Daron Bland in the 2023 preseason, leading to a series of team changes, including stints with the Dolphins, Seahawks, Chiefs, Colts, and Vikings. Eventually, Joseph found himself out of the NFL, playing for the DC Defenders in the UFL.

As the legal proceedings unfold, this case is a stark reminder of the potential repercussions of poor decisions and the far-reaching impacts on all involved.
