Aaron Rodgers Crushed For Not Caring About Football Anymore

The New York Jets’ season continues its slide after a painful 25-22 defeat to the New England Patriots, raising widespread concern over the team’s ability to turn things around.

With every option seemingly exhausted and no clear path forward, the Jets appear locked in a downward spiral.

Of course, they can turn things around with a win tonight over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. However, you can’t feel great about the chances of that happening no matter what the point spread says.

While the Jets have plenty of flaws and several units are not carrying their weight, the vast majority of the attention is focused on quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

It’s no secret that there has been a severe dip in Rodgers’ play this season. While he has flashed brilliance at times, the consistency he once played with no longer exists.

Rodgers was asked what his message was for frustrated Jets fans who plan to attend tonight’s game at MetLife Stadium.

“Just smile … Show up, trust, believe, and root us on as hard as you can,” he said. “We need that noise and we’re trying to rectify this as quickly as possible, I know it’s been frustrating for everybody, but still a lot of season left.”

We all know Rodgers’ mindset and approach these days. He’s all about “manifesting” positivity. Knowing this, his message for depressed Jets fans makes perfect sense.

However, the whole “smile, trust, believe” routine got old weeks ago. Jets fans want wins, and they want them now.

It’s no secret that the Jets are one of the laughingstocks on the NFL. They’ve been toxic and dysfunctional for the majority of their existence.

Having said that, they have a loyal, die-hard fanbase – One that deserves so much better than what they’ve been getting from Rodgers and company this season (nevermind their tortured past).

The Jets have gone winless since their Week 3 victory against the Patriots.

Needless to say, tonight’s clash against the Texans is a must-win if Gang Green is to have any hope at accomplishing anything this season.

“Just gotta win, baby,” Rodgers said with a smile, summing up the team’s mindset.

In fairness, the title of this story is a bit harsh. We all know Rodgers takes football very seriously. However, there are signs that he’s not as invested as he used to be.

It’s hard to find an elite quarterback – or any quarterback for that matter – who skips a mandatory minicamp to go on vacation to Egypt.

Now, while he’s undoubtedly trying to be positive, the whole “smile and be happy” routine is one that will always anger any fanbase who’s in the middle of a nasty losing streak.

What are your honest thoughts on Rodgers?

Will he and the Jets be able to save their season in time before it’s too late?

There are rumblings that Rodgers may very well retire at the end of the year … Do you see that actually happening???
