Stefon Diggs has found himself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons — and now, the veteran wideout is finally speaking, if only briefly.

Two weeks ago, a video surfaced showing the four-time Pro Bowler on a boat surrounded by partygoers, including several bikini-clad women. But it wasn’t just the scene that grabbed attention. At one point, Diggs was seen carrying an unidentified pink substance, setting off a social media frenzy and leading to rampant speculation about his off-field behavior.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel didn’t duck the issue. He addressed it head-on, telling reporters that players need to make wise choices “on and off the field.” That comment sparked rumors in some circles that Diggs’ spot on the team could be in jeopardy — but the Patriots are staying the course with their 31-year-old wideout.

On Tuesday, Diggs addressed the media at mandatory minicamp. He didn’t clarify the substance or the situation, but he did confirm that he had a direct conversation with Vrabel and other members of the Patriots staff.

“I want to be as candid with you as possible, but I kind of have a thing where I don’t talk about my personal life with people I don’t know personally,” Diggs said. “I had a conversation with [Mike] Vrabel, obviously, and I’m going to echo everything that he said… the particulars are all internal.”

He added that he’s been around the league long enough to know how these things work — and how to keep the conversation limited.

“Obviously, it’s a conversation that’s happening internal, which I can’t have too much of a conversation with [you] about it. I’ve been in this league 10 years. You can format your question many different ways, I’m going to obviously answer it the same way.”

Diggs enters his first season with the Patriots after a one-year stint in Houston, where his campaign was cut short by a torn ACL. He still managed 47 catches, 496 yards, and three touchdowns before the injury. His time in Buffalo — where he topped 100 receptions and 1,000 yards in four straight years — solidified him as one of the most productive receivers of the last decade. But his exit from the Bills wasn’t exactly smooth, and this latest incident won’t quiet concerns about potential distractions.

That said, Diggs has a fresh start in New England and a massive opportunity ahead.

The Patriots are set to open the 2025 season at home against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 7. The matchup already has some spice — it’s the debut for New England’s new-look offense, and it’ll come against a team co-owned by none other than Patriots legend Tom Brady. It’s also Diggs’ chance to silence the noise and show that, when the lights come on, he’s still one of the best in the league.
