Mike Tomlin Wants to Go Get Kyler Murray

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been a model of stability at the quarterback position for decades, but lately, it’s been a revolving door. Since Big Ben retired, they’ve cycled through Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Duck Hodges, Mason Rudolph, and Kenny Pickett. It’s time for them to find a long-term answer, and I think Kyler Murray could be the perfect fit.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Kyler Murray? Isn’t he a bit undersized? And hasn’t he had some issues in Arizona?” Well, yes, he’s not the prototypical 6’5″ quarterback, and he’s had his ups and downs with the Cardinals. But let’s not forget the talent this guy has.

Kyler is an electric playmaker with incredible mobility. He can make defenses look silly with his elusiveness in the pocket and his ability to scramble for big gains. In a division with tough defenses like the Ravens and Browns, that kind of mobility is a huge asset.

And don’t forget, Kyler has already had some impressive seasons in the NFL. Remember that 2020 season when he threw for almost 4,000 yards and 26 touchdowns, while also rushing for over 800 yards and 11 touchdowns? That’s the kind of dual-threat ability that can transform an offense.

The Steelers have a solid foundation in place with a talented offensive line and weapons like George Pickens. Plus, they have a strong defense that can take some pressure off the quarterback. With the right coaching and support system, Kyler could thrive in Pittsburgh.

This is a bold move, but it’s the kind of move that could put the Steelers back in Super Bowl contention. Kyler is still young, he’s got a ton of potential, and he’s hungry to prove himself. If the Steelers can make this happen, they might just have their franchise quarterback for the next decade.
