Future Hall of Famer Von Miller is keeping his options open but remains realistic about the prospect of a reunion with the Denver Broncos in 2025. The legendary linebacker, known for his pivotal role in the Broncos’ Super Bowl victory and his status as an eight-time Pro Bowler, admits he hasn’t heard from the team since being released by the Buffalo Bills earlier this offseason. Miller candidly noted that a return to Denver “really doesn’t make sense” given the current roster, which features promising young players like Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper.

Miller injected some humor into the conversation, playfully stating, “I’m 36 years old, I can say that I probably won’t be doing that,” referring to the notion of taking on special teams duties. While he’s ready to lace up his cleats for one more season, the thought of playing a secondary role doesn’t appeal to him now.

Turning his attention back to the Broncos, Miller offered nothing but praise for the team’s emerging talent and competitive spirit. He reflected on his past experiences with the quarterback situation, mentioning Bo Nix, someone he has firsthand knowledge of, stating, “He’s the real deal.” He highlighted the strong defensive unit, from Bonitto to Cooper, and even touched upon the depth within the outside linebacker group, mentioning that there are efficient playmakers ready to step up.

Miller remarked, “Zach Allen on the inside is one of the best defensive tackles in the league,” a statement that carries weight considering how Miller has competed against the best throughout his career. He pointed out that the Broncos led the league in sacks last year, emphasizing the strength of their defensive front, which bodes well for their competitive aspirations.

“I know Broncos country expects more as well. I know he has more. He’s going to keep on growing,” Miller said, expressing confidence in Nix’s progress as he enters his second year. He didn’t shy away from acknowledging the solid group of receivers that the Broncos possess, asserting that the team is shaping up to be quite formidable.

While Miller may not return to Denver this season, his excitement for the franchise remains palpable. “I’m excited. I’ll always be a fan,” he concluded, reflecting a genuine connection to the team that played a major role in shaping his illustrious career. Looking ahead, it’s clear he hopes to contribute somewhere in 2025, continuing to fight for his place in the league after what he described as the toughest season of his career last year with the Bills. Despite facing challenges, recording six sacks while serving mostly as a backup demonstrates that Miller still has gas left in the tank, and the league would certainly benefit from having him back on the field.
