With only a small piece of the NFL’s 2025 schedule officially revealed, that hasn’t stopped football personalities from diving headfirst into Super Bowl speculation – even with Super Bowl LX still nine months away.
As part of the schedule rollout, one marquee game already confirmed is a Week 10 Monday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers on November 10.
That was enough of a spark to get ESPN’s Joe Buck and Troy Aikman talking about who they think will hoist the Lombardi Trophy next February at Levi’s Stadium.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Buck didn’t hesitate with his pick. “I’m going to say Buffalo finally wins it,” he predicted.
Of course, the Bills is a reasonable (and popular) choice. Led by reigning MVP Josh Allen, Buffalo came within striking distance last season, falling just short in the AFC Championship.
Thanks to Allen, most fans believe the Bills are still well within their Super Bowl window.
Interestingly, Buck’s longtime broadcast partner, Troy Aikman, took the moment in a different – and much more playful – direction.
Given only seconds to respond, Aikman proudly blurted out: “Cowboys!!! Yeah. C’mon, Strah!”
His response drew laughter from co-host Michael Strahan, a New York Giants legend and longtime Cowboys rival.
“You know better than that. C’mon, Troy,” Strahan responded.
While Aikman’s pick was likely more of a friendly jab than a serious forecast, it still raised eyebrows.
After all, the Cowboys are coming off a disappointing 7-10 season that resulted in the firing of head coach Mike McCarthy. They haven’t reached the Super Bowl since Aikman himself led them there nearly three decades ago.
Although Dallas fans are excited about the recent acquisition of wide receiver George Pickens, the move hasn’t significantly improved the team’s outlook in Vegas.
The Cowboys currently sit as 50-to-1 longshots to make a Super Bowl run – though significantly better than Strahan’s Giants, who are listed at 200-to-1.
As more of the schedule rolls out, expect the predictions – wild or not – to keep coming.
And while Buck may have gone with a safe bet in Buffalo, Aikman reminded everyone that when it comes to football talk, a little trolling goes a long way.
What are your thoughts on Aikman’s prediction? … Do you think he was actually being serious???
