The Los Angeles Rams haven’t committed to trading Matthew Stafford, but if they decide to move the veteran quarterback, there won’t be a shortage of interest.
One potential suitor? The Las Vegas Raiders, a team eager to make a splash under new head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek.
And there’s one particularly influential figure pushing for the move – NFL legend Tom Brady.
According to Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Vincent Bonsignore, Brady, now a minority owner of the Raiders, has been in direct contact with Stafford’s camp regarding a possible move to Las Vegas.
The Raiders, sitting on nearly $100 million in cap space – the second-most in the NFL – could easily afford to take on Stafford’s contract, possibly offering him more than what the Rams are willing to pay.
However, two major obstacles could stand in the way.
Would Stafford be willing to join a team in the midst of a rebuild? And would the Raiders be willing to part with valuable draft capital to make the deal happen?
While Las Vegas has emerged as a potential landing spot, the pieces would need to fall into place for Stafford to head to the desert.
Along with the Raiders, the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers are among the teams most interested in the future Hall of Famer.
At the end of the day, where do you think Stafford will end up???
