Steelers Legend Furious About Aaron Rodgers Signing

Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw didn’t hold back when asked about the Pittsburgh Steelers’ pursuit of four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers.

“That’s a joke. That to me is just a joke,” Bradshaw told 103.7 The Buzz.

“What are you gonna do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the Gods out there.”

The 41-year-old Rodgers has not signed with the Steelers, but speculation continues to mount about the future Hall of Famer potentially joining the franchise ahead of the upcoming season.

After spending the last two seasons with the New York Jets and over 15 years in Green Bay, Rodgers remains undecided about his NFL future.

In a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Rodgers opened up about why football hasn’t been his top priority during the offseason.

“I’ve been in the weeds with these people who are close to me that have cancer,” Rodgers told Rogan.

Just days later, Rodgers fueled more speculation at a Q&A session hosted by Mike Stud. When asked whether he would consider playing for the Chicago Bears, Rodgers playfully dismissed the idea – but hinted at something else.

“No, but I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year on a road trip,” Rodgers said, clearly hinting at him signing with the Steelers who will travel to Chicago to face the Bears on November 23.

Despite Rodgers’ absence from the team’s ongoing Organized Team Activities, optimism remains within NFL circles that a deal will still happen.

Pittsburgh has begun offseason workouts with quarterbacks Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and rookie Will Howard leading the offense for now.

Of course, not everyone in the league shares Bradshaw’s skepticism. Rodgers’ former head coach in Green Bay, Matt LaFleur, said he “fully expects” the veteran quarterback to sign with the Steelers.

Speaking with Kay Adams, LaFleur also confirmed he hadn’t spoken to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin or offensive coordinator Arthur Smith about Rodgers’ potential fit in Pittsburgh.

“No, not once,” LaFleur said. “Nothing. Neither has Arthur. Arthur Smith, their OC. I haven’t heard from either of those guys in regards to him [Rodgers]. I’m pretty sure they know what they’re doing. I’m sure they’re confident in what they’re doing and I would fully expect him to be a Pittsburgh Steeler.”

If Rodgers does indeed sign with Pittsburgh, he will face both his former teams – the Jets (Week 1) and the Packers (Week 8).

While most people expect Rodgers to sign with the Steelers – perhaps as early as today – it’s clear that some are against the idea, such as the legendary Bradshaw.

Where do you stand on this whole dramatic Rodgers situation? … Are you on Team Bradshaw???
