Tyreek Hill has carved out a remarkable career as one of the elite receivers of his generation, but according to Randy Moss—a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best to ever play—he still has some ground to cover before entering the ranks of all-time greats.
Moss recently shared his thoughts, stating unequivocally, “He’s nowhere all-time.” While he acknowledged Hill’s current status, saying, “Tyreek Hill is probably top five,” it’s clear Moss believes Hill’s legacy is still in the making. For fans and analysts alike, this raises an intriguing conversation about Hill’s career trajectory compared to the legends of the game.
At 31 years old, Hill ranks 42nd all-time with 798 career receptions, placing him just behind the legendary Roddy White and ahead of tight end Zach Ertz. His career tally of 11,098 receiving yards also puts him in 42nd place, just trailing DeSean Jackson and edging out Chad Johnson. Additionally, Hill’s 82 touchdown receptions tie him for 30th all-time with Anquan Boldin and Reggie Wayne.
While these numbers are undeniably impressive, they’re not yet on par with the all-time greats like Moss himself or Jerry Rice—the latter being the gold standard against which all wide receivers are measured. However, this could change dramatically in the coming years if Hill continues to perform at a high level. If he can string together three more Pro Bowl-caliber seasons, he may very well solidify his place among the best in history.
When we look at Hill’s trajectory, it bears a resemblance to Antonio Brown’s path as he approached age 31. Brown had an incredible peak but required additional standout seasons to truly etch his name among the greats. Unfortunately, what followed was a swift decline that jeopardized his Hall of Fame chances.
Hill, however, has already achieved significant single-season milestones. Not only does he have two more Pro Bowl selections than Moss, but his personal best for receiving yards—1,799 in the 2023 season—blows Moss’s best out of the water by over 300 yards. This places Hill in a unique position to redefine his legacy.
