Cleveland Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins found himself in a troubling situation over the weekend, as he was arrested and charged with touch or strike battery/domestic violence, according to records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. At just 21 years old, Judkins is now facing a misdemeanor charge with a pending trial ahead of him, though he did manage to post bond later on Sunday.
In a statement relayed by NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero, an NFL spokesperson acknowledged awareness of the situation but chose to refrain from further comment. Meanwhile, the Browns are also gathering information on the matter before making any public remarks.
The allegations against Judkins are serious. According to an arrest report, the victim claims that during an incident on July 7, he struck her with a closed fist in the chin and lip area, and then hit her on the arm and thigh while they were in a car. It’s notable that the victim has stated they are currently in a relationship, as well as having been involved with each other in the past.
The situation escalated when Fort Lauderdale Police responded to reports on July 12 regarding a delayed battery. Preliminary investigations determined that a battery had indeed taken place. Officers then made contact with Judkins, who was subsequently taken to Broward County Main Jail.
Judkins, who is presently unsigned, was selected as a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Browns, coming off a standout season at Ohio State where he helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. During his only season with the team, he amassed an impressive 1,060 rushing yards, following two successful years at Ole Miss.
