Pro Bowl Star: My Team Would Have Destroyed Eagles In Playoffs

Depending on what you believe a true NFL dynasty is, the Kansas City Chiefs were either already there or well on their way towards getting there.

That is until the Philadelphia Eagles completely dismantled them in last month’s Super Bowl. I mean, have you ever seen a more deceiving final score (40-22) than that game???

Regardless, not everyone was impressed with the Eagles’ dominant performance.

Bills defensive tackle Dion Dawkins, known for his outspoken nature, expressed his belief that Buffalo would have put up a much better fight against the Eagles.

Appearing on The Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark, Dawkins boldly claimed his team would have performed better in the Super Bowl.

“We would’ve put on a better show in the Super Bowl; We would’ve put on a better show. And, shoot, I am part of my team, so I think my team is gonna put on the best show regardless of anybody performing. We are the ones. We’re raw,” Dawkins said.

“Our quarterback is raw. Our line is raw. D-line is raw. We put on the best show and perform at a high level; we would’ve had a better chance, in my eyes.”

Dawkins’ confidence stems from the presence of star quarterback Josh Allen, who was exceptional throughout his MVP season.

However, the validity of Dawkins’ statement becomes questionable when considering the Bills’ shortcomings.

Buffalo’s offense, while led by Allen, lacked the necessary pass-catching weapons to truly threaten Philadelphia’s elite secondary.

Additionally, the Bills’ defense struggled against the run, particularly evident in their playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dawkins’ assertion, while full of confidence, may be seen as unrealistic in hindsight, especially given how dominant the Eagles were on both sides of the ball this season.

Having said that, we know how well the Eagles are built to play-from-ahead and stay “on-script.”

Perhaps Allen and the Bills would have been able to jump on the Eagles in a way the Chiefs weren’t able to.

Either way, it doesn’t matter. The fact is Buffalo once again failed to conquer their playoff demons and fell short of the Super Bowl.

Love them or hate them, the Eagles are Super Bowl champions and there’s nothing anyone can do about that until next season.

What are your thoughts on Dawkins’ comments???
