NFL Legend Attacked For Shocking Deebo Samuel Take

Former NFL great LeSean McCoy, now an FS1 personality, is facing backlash from fans after a controversial statement made during an episode of The Facility.

McCoy shared his thoughts on the San Francisco 49ers trading former All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Commanders. While he praised the move for Washington, it was his comments about Samuel that sparked outrage.

McCoy boldly claimed, “Deebo is the best player in football when the ball is in his hands, running back or wide receiver.”

Unsurprisingly, McCoy’s hot take quickly drew criticism from fans who disagreed with his assessment.

Some fans took to social media, with one user stating, “We loved Shady as a player in Philly and Buffalo. He’s smoking something crazy with this take.”

Another fan posted, “We need to collectively stop giving this show a platform. The amount of inaccurate nonsense they shout so confidently is wild.”

A third fan expressed frustration by writing, “Stop letting every former player have a spot on these shows. This is horrible.”

McCoy’s take on Samuel appears misguided when looking at the receiver’s recent performance.

While Samuel was a standout in 2021, accumulating over 1,700 scrimmage yards and earning MVP-caliber recognition, his production has taken a dip since. Last season, Samuel finished with just 670 receiving yards.

To call him the “best player in football when the ball is in his hands” seems far-fetched, especially given these numbers.

Despite his wear-and-tear, we all know Samuel is still a very dangerous player.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it’s safe to assume the vast majority of fans would strongly disagree with McCoy’s bold take.

What are your thoughts? … On that note, who do YOU think is the best player with the ball in their hands???
