“Juiciest” Rumor Involves Aaron Rodgers Begging Surprising Team

As NFL teams gather in Indianapolis for the 2025 Scouting Combine, rumors are swirling around the future of Aaron Rodgers, the 41-year-old future Hall of Fame quarterback who’s expected to part ways with the New York Jets.

Just two weeks ago, the Jets made it clear that they planned to move on from Rodgers after a challenging 2024 season, and it’s anticipated that they’ll officially release him before the new league year begins on March 12 at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Rodgers, who’s a four-time MVP, has quickly become the center of trade speculation.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, there were discussions at the Combine linking Rodgers to the New York Giants, a surprising twist considering the team’s current situation.

“There was talk at the Combine on Tuesday that Rodgers has reached out to the Giants,” Florio reported. “It’s a surprising twist, to say the least. Currently, the Giants are not objectively ‘good.’

“They could end up being better in 2025 than they were in 2024, and Rodgers could help them get there. Playing for the Giants also would result in Rodgers not having to move.

“It’s unclear whether the Giants would be interested in Rodgers. Yes, he could be better than other options they’ll have, especially if he’ll take less cash in order to stick it a little bit (or a lot) to the Jets, who didn’t want to keep him.

“But Giants fans who witnessed his two years with the other team in town might not be interested in signing up for a year or two with a guy whose star is fading.”

The Giants’ quarterback situation is currently in flux.

The team released Daniel Jones late in the 2024 season, with two years remaining on the $160 million extension he signed in 2023.

With general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll both potentially on the hot seat, the Giants might be under pressure to make a splash and pursue a veteran quarterback like Rodgers or Matthew Stafford in an effort to become playoff contenders in 2025.

Despite the Jets’ struggles in 2024, Rodgers showed he still has the ability to be a high-level starting quarterback in the NFL.

Despite playing behind one of the league’s worst offensive lines, Rodgers completed 63% of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

It remains to be seen whether Rodgers will ultimately make the move to the Giants or another team, but the conversation surrounding his future is only heating up as the NFL offseason continues.
