Insider Drops Bombshell On Micah Parsons’ Ugly Contract Situation

Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons is setting his sights on becoming the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history as he enters the final year of his current contract.

With other top pass rushers like Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby securing hefty paydays this offseason, Parsons is pushing for a deal that reflects his elite status.

However, the negotiations have been anything but smooth.

Tensions flared recently when Cowboys owner Jerry Jones downplayed the significance of Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, during a public discussion at the NFL Owners Meetings.

Jones even admitted/claimed he didn’t know Mulugheta’s name, leading to a public response from Parsons himself.

“The agent is not a concern here. I don’t know his name,” Jones said at the time.

Needless to say, that comment did not sit well with Parsons, who viewed it as disrespectful – and he quickly took to X to defend his agent.

“Facts!! David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without @DavidMulugheta involved! Like anyone with good sense, I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract negotiation,” Parsons posted on X.

Despite the drama surrounding the situation, ESPN’s Adam Schefter remains optimistic that both parties will eventually come to an agreement before the 2025 season kicks off.

“I would say that, eventually, both sides will figure out that deal and get it done,” Schefter reported.

Parsons, a four-time Pro Bowler, has established himself as one of the premier pass rushers in the league since entering the NFL.

Over the course of his young career, Parsons has consistently delivered double-digit sack totals, including 12 sacks in each of the past three seasons.

In 2024, Parsons played in 13 games, recording 43 total tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass defended.

As the Cowboys look to secure a new deal for their defensive superstar, the team has already set a precedent for big extensions, having signed wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a massive contract before the 2024 season.

While Schefter claims he’s confident that a deal will get done before the upcoming season, the tension is only building.

What are your thoughts on Parsons’ contract situation? … At the end of the day, will Jones and the Cowboys be able to keep him in Dallas???
