Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has not only impressed on the field but also made waves off it.
In addition to his dominant performances on Sundays, Parsons has ventured into the media world, hosting his own weekly podcast, The Edge, where he offers insights on his team and discusses hot topics in the NFL.
While many fans enjoy hearing Parsons’ candid opinions, not everyone agrees with his media presence.
One notable critic is legendary Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor.
Speaking to Outkick, Taylor took aim at Parsons for his involvement in the media, suggesting that today’s players should focus more on perfecting their craft rather than speaking about it.
“He’s a great player. But guys, let’s do more. Let’s play more football and less podcasts,” Taylor said.
Taylor even lightheartedly suggested that Parsons might have a future in acting once his playing days are over.
Despite the criticism, Parsons has shown no signs of slowing down, continuing to thrive both on and off the field.
In a recent podcast episode, Parsons spoke out in defense of Cowboys’ owner and general manager Jerry Jones.
During a live taping of The Edge at the 2025 Super Bowl media sessions, the crowd reacted with boos when Jones was mentioned, a reflection of the growing frustration among fans with the owner’s recent decisions.
However, Parsons swiftly intervened, calling for fans to reconsider their stance on Jones.
“Me and Jerry Jones … That’s my dog,” Parsons said. “We gotta stop that Jerry Jones hate. Listen, I’m telling y’all right now Cowboys Nation, Jerry Jones is much better as a GM than you guys think. I never met a man that takes better care of his players.”
Parsons is under contract with the Cowboys for 2025 after the team exercised his fifth-year option last year.
He is set to make $24 million next season, and talks of a possible contract extension could see him earn upwards of $30 million.
As far as his podcasting is concerned, LT is far from the only critic. After all, it seems like everyone and their mother has a podcast these days.
While Parsons is entitled to do whatever he wants, you can’t blame Cowboys fans for wanting him to focus a little more on football and a little less on podcasting.
What are your thoughts on Taylor’s comments???
