FOX Sports NFL sideline reporter Erin Andrews didn’t hold back when addressing a rude comment made about her appearance during her coverage of the 49ers-Buccaneers game in Tampa earlier this month.
On a recent episode of the Calm Down podcast, which she co-hosts with Charissa Thompson, Andrews shared how she shut down a negative remark while explaining the challenges of working in the intense Florida heat.
“Somebody said ‘Erin Andrews you look so great, you have this glow. What’re you using? And I said, ‘It’s called sweat.’ We were outside… like 90 degrees on the field for four hours,” Andrews said.
“I wrote back and I said, ‘It’s was called sweat and I need a shower,’ and some a**hole wrote, ‘It’s hot flashes.’
“Shut the f*ck shut up! It’s outside for five hours, enough!”
Andrews explained that the blazing sun compounded the discomfort, making it impossible to reapply sunscreen due to her body makeup.
The heated exchange came up during a fan Q&A segment of the podcast, where Andrews and Thompson addressed how they handle online criticism.
Thompson, a studio host for FOX Sports and Thursday Night Football on Amazon, offered her perspective on dealing with negativity.
“Don’t worry about those losers, you just keep doing you,” she said.
“People that try and poke Erin and I on stuff, every now and then we’ll respond, just because it’s just like, we had enough… But for every 100 bad comments we may respond to one,” she added.
A clip from the episode, shared on the Calm Down podcast’s social media accounts, highlighted the exchange with the caption, “Menopause jokes aren’t funny,” accompanied by an angry face emoji.
Andrews, who also runs her clothing line WEAR by EA, made it clear she won’t let unwarranted criticism go unchecked.
Her message to critics? Don’t mistake heat-induced sweat for anything else!
