Cowboys Reveal Surprising Priorities Amid Micah Parsons Drama

With the first waves of NFL free agency in the rearview mirror, the Dallas Cowboys remain on the hunt for reinforcements – specifically at wide receiver.

While CeeDee Lamb is firmly established as the team’s top target, the Cowboys are still in need of a true No. 2 option as they gear up for the 2025 season.

Speaking on Monday, Cowboys Executive VP Stephen Jones made it clear that the team is still looking to add more firepower to its receiving corps.

“We’re still open to looking at a really explosive number two that could upgrade us,” Jones admitted. “But as I said, I like our room and certainly like the players we currently have.”

Dallas did bring in Parris Campbell earlier this offseason, but that move alone doesn’t fully address their needs.

The Cowboys also parted ways with Brandin Cooks, leaving an already thin receiving group even more depleted.

Finding another dynamic weapon to complement Lamb will be key to maintaining a potent passing attack in 2025.

Several well-known receivers remain unsigned, including former Cowboys star Amari Cooper, as well as Keenan Allen, Tyler Lockett, Odell Beckham Jr., and Robert Woods.

However, it’s unclear whether any of them align with what Jones and the Cowboys’ front office are looking for at this stage.

Dallas also has other areas of concern, such as locking up star pass rusher Micah Parsons to an extension before that situation turns ugly.

As for a No. 2 receiver, if Dallas decides not to dip back into free agency, the NFL Draft could be where they make their move.

Regardless of the route they take, it seems likely that a significant addition is coming sooner rather than later.

What are your thoughts on Dallas admitting a true No. 2 wide receiver is at the top of their priority list? … Who should they target???
