Cowboys Get Some Great News For A Change…

After a record-setting season that solidified him as one of the most electrifying running backs in college football history, Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty has declared for the NFL Draft.

Jeanty, whose dominance helped propel the Broncos to their first-ever College Football Playoff berth, now sets his sights on the professional stage.

Interestingly, Jeanty has made it perfectly clear which team he hopes will draft him.

‘I would love to play for the Cowboys. It would be like a dream come true,’ Jeanty recently told NBC.

The Broncos’ historic season came to an end in the Fiesta Bowl, where they fell to Penn State.

Despite the loss, Jeanty’s individual performance throughout the year captivated fans and NFL scouts alike.

He finished the season with 2,601 rushing yards – just 27 shy of Barry Sanders’ all-time single-season record set in 1988.

Though Jeanty narrowly missed winning the Heisman Trophy, finishing as the runner-up to Colorado star Travis Hunter, his accomplishments cemented his status as the top running back in the upcoming draft class.

Born into a military family, Jeanty’s football journey has spanned continents.

He played football across the United States and even in Italy before his family settled in Frisco, Texas, a Dallas suburb, when he expressed a desire to compete in the U.S.

Now, Jeanty’s NFL aspirations align with his Texas roots.

With the Dallas Cowboys holding the 12th overall pick in the draft, the possibility of Jeanty returning to the Lone Star State is hard to ignore.

The Cowboys endured an disappointing 2024 season, and just said goodbye to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Dallas particularly struggled in their ground game. Jeanty’s elite production could be the answer to those woes.

Despite the trend of teams devaluing running backs in the first round, Jeanty’s generational talent might tempt Dallas to buck conventional wisdom.

It also doesn’t hurt that the position has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence this year, thanks largely to the Saquon Barkley’s and Josh Jacobs’ of the league.

Jeanty’s college performance this season was nothing short of spectacular.

His 2,601 rushing yards and clutch performances powered Boise State’s playoff push, drawing comparisons to Sanders and other legends of the game.

What are your thoughts on Dallas being Jeanty’s preferred NFL destination?

Speaking of Big D, who do you think the next head coach of the Cowboys will be???
