Dak Prescott is not just optimistic; he’s ready to hit the ground running as the Dallas Cowboys gear up for training camp starting July 22. Recovering from a torn hamstring, Prescott expressed confidence in his readiness while attending his football camp in Southlake, Texas. “I’m healthy as I’ll be,” he stated. “I’ll be full go for camp. I’m healthy. Yeah, I think soon here I’ll probably get the official sign-off from doc, but I’m healthy.”

It’s encouraging to hear that Prescott, who turns 32 on July 29, is gearing up for an intense camp after suffering the injury last season in Week 9, which ultimately led to season-ending surgery on November 13. He was able to participate in the team’s offseason activities, and by May, he had received clearance to practice—though without any contact.

To give you a sense of what Prescott brings when he returns, before his injury, he had accumulated 1,978 passing yards, with a tally of 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Notably, he faced some struggles toward the end of the season, throwing six of those picks over his last four games.

This season, as Prescott steps back onto the field, he’ll be working with a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer and aiming to develop chemistry with a new target: wide receiver George Pickens. Prescott couldn’t help but rave about Pickens, highlighting his ability to create separation. “Go turn on that guy’s tape,” Prescott urged. “He’s getting separation. He’s got separation even when he’s not getting the ball at times, and when he doesn’t have separation he’s still making the catches. It’s not going to be hard. For me, it’s about getting the ball near that guy, and he will be George Pickens. Go turn on the tape — he’s great at doing it.”

With Prescott’s dedication to his recovery and the excitement around the new additions to the team, Cowboys fans have plenty to look forward to as camp approaches. His journey back seems set to reignite the offensive engine in Dallas, and the stakes could not be higher.
