The Washington Commanders are set to roll out a stylish nod to their storied past with a new alternate uniform for the 2025 season. Known as the “Super Bowl Era” uniform, it captures the essence of the classic look fans have cherished.

This fresh take features a white jersey complemented by sleek burgundy pants, elegantly adorned with gold and white stripes that run down the sides. Perhaps the most striking element is the “W” helmet, which showcases two white stripes flanking a gold stripe down the center, paired with a gold facemask that ties the whole look together.

Mark Clouse, the Commanders’ President, expressed excitement about the new uniforms in a recent press release. “We are thrilled to celebrate Washington’s rich history with these iconic, Super Bowl Era uniforms this season,” he said. “Since acquiring the team in 2023, Josh Harris and our ownership group have prioritized connections to our past, ensuring we honor those who have shaped the Burgundy and Gold legacy.”

Drawing inspiration from the triumphant seasons of 1982, 1987, and 1991—years that saw the franchise lift the Lombardi Trophy—the uniform aims to rekindle the pride of that successful era. Clouse noted, “These uniforms honor the most successful era of our franchise—a culture of excellence filled with memorable moments for our fanbase. We look forward to bringing that nostalgic feeling back to fans while incorporating a modern twist for the next generation.”

Mark your calendars, Commanders fans! The team will debut this uniform against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9 during Sunday Night Football. They’ll also sport this tribute to their history against the Denver Broncos in Week 13 and the rival Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. It’s a season where tradition meets innovation, and the Commanders are ready to make an impact both on and off the field.
