Browns & Titans Have Major Disagreement At Top Of Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and two of the top teams selecting – the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns – are taking different approaches when it comes to the future position of standout prospect Travis Hunter.

Hunter, whose unique ability to dominate both as a wide receiver and cornerback earned him the Heisman Trophy, is expected to be one of the first players off the board.

While the teams agree on his remarkable versatility, they are split on which position he will primarily play in the NFL.

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry spoke about Hunter’s exceptional skills at the NFL Scouting Combine, emphasizing his dual-threat capability.

“In terms of Travis Hunter, cornerback or receiver, the answer is yes,” Berry said. “He can play both, and I think that’s what makes him special. We would see him as a receiver primarily … Again, what makes him a bit of a unicorn is the fact he can do both at a high level.”

On the other hand, Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan expressed a different vision for Hunter’s role in the NFL.

Speaking with NFL.com, Callahan suggested that it’s “very realistic” for Hunter to continue playing both positions, but he expects the young star to start at cornerback and gradually get involved on offense.

For now, Hunter is listed as a cornerback for the Scouting Combine, where his unique skill set continues to capture the attention of NFL decision-makers.

For what it’s worth, Hunter made it clear that he believes he can play both positions “100%” of the time at the NFL level.

Hunter’s 2024 college season at Colorado was a display of his versatility.

He played 713 defensive snaps and 709 offensive snaps, showcasing his all-around game. He finished with 92 catches for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns as a receiver while adding four interceptions as a cornerback.

His impressive accomplishments earned him both the Chuck Bednarik Award, given to the nation’s top defensive player, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award, recognizing him as the country’s best wide receiver.

Of course, he also won the Heisman Trophy.

What are your thoughts on Hunter as an NFL prospect? … Do you really think he can be a full-time player at BOTH wide receiver and cornerback?

At the end of the day, where do you think he will end up going in the draft???
