Former NFL linebacker Bryan Braman, who made his mark with the Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans, has sadly passed away at the age of 38 after a brave battle with a “very rare” form of cancer, as confirmed by his agent, Sean Stellato.

Braman was a beloved figure both on and off the field, leaving behind two young daughters, aged 11 and 8. His journey took a tragic turn earlier this year when he was diagnosed with cancer, leading to the creation of a GoFundMe campaign to support his fight. The effort drew considerable support, raising over $88,000, with notable contributions including $10,000 from former Texans star J.J. Watt. However, challenges arose as Braman’s condition worsened, with updates revealing that, despite undergoing “CAR-T cell reprogramming treatment,” the cancer was growing more aggressive, affecting his vital organs.

During his seven-year NFL career, Braman was primarily known for his time with the Eagles, where he played a pivotal role in the franchise’s first Super Bowl victory during the unforgettable 2017 season. After signing as an undrafted free agent with the Texans in 2011, he played three seasons with the team before joining the Eagles in 2014. His invaluable contributions culminated in his return to the Eagles right before their historic playoff run in 2017, where he recorded one tackle in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.

Before stepping onto the NFL stage, Braman shone at West Texas A&M, showcasing his talent and determination. Over the course of his professional career, he participated in 97 games, accumulating 56 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery. His legacy in the sport, marked by perseverance and tenacity, will not be forgotten by the fans who admired his journey.
