Arch Manning is certainly drawing a lot of eyes, and for good reason.
Texas Longhorns’ promising quarterback recently made an appearance at Ryan Wingo’s youth camp in St. Louis, held at Wingo’s former high school. Accompanying Manning were wide receivers DeAndre Moore Jr. and Aaron Butler, along with standout linebacker Colin Simmons. These Longhorns players weren’t just there to show face—they actively engaged with the kids, offering insights and inspiration during the event.
But the day wasn’t over once the camp concluded. A snapshot from the day captured Manning standing in a notoriously tough neighborhood on Greer Avenue in St. Louis, throwing up the iconic Longhorn gesture while surrounded by young fans. It was a powerful image, showcasing Manning’s willingness to connect with fans in every corner.
Looking forward, Ryan Wingo, who finished an impressive freshman year with 29 catches for 472 yards, two touchdowns, and 100 rushing yards on just five carries, is anticipated to become Manning’s go-to receiver. The chemistry between Manning and Wingo has been building, especially highlighted last season when Manning had to step up due to Quinn Ewers’ injury. Manning’s praise was clear, “It helps when you have great players around you and good coaches. Isaiah Bond, Ryan Wingo, the o-line, they all make it a little bit easier for me. I get more reps with Wingo at practice, and he’s the man. What a good guy. He’s going to catch a lot of touchdowns here. The sky’s the limit for him.”
As the Longhorns set their sights on the upcoming 2025 season, they kick things off with a highly anticipated matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on August 30. And speaking of anticipation, the odds seem to be in Texas’ favor. Coming off two consecutive College Football Playoff appearances, the Longhorns are sharing the top spot with Ohio State for the best odds to nab the national championship, both sitting at +500.
Fueling this excitement is the dawn of the Arch Manning era. As the grandson of esteemed college football royalty Archie Manning, and nephew to NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, Arch is ready to carve his own path. The buzz around him is not just fluff; having been the No. 1 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class, he’s poised to live up to and potentially exceed those lofty expectations.
