Former Star QB Reveals Shocking George Pickens Truth

The Dallas Cowboys shocked the NFL world with a surprise trade, acquiring star wide receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Reactions were swift and strong, with one of the loudest coming from former NFL quarterback and current analyst Robert Griffin III.

On his Outta Pocket podcast, Griffin didn’t hold back his excitement about the move.

“The George Pickens trade gives the Dallas Cowboys two #1 WRs and a Top 5 WR Duo in the NFL. Now THAT’S an ALL IN move Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott has to take advantage of it with a deep playoff run,” Griffin posted on X.

Griffin later expanded on his thoughts during the podcast.

“Yo, yo, Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys just got two number one wide receivers,” Griffin emphasized.

He went on to say that this trade bolstered Prescott’s supporting cast, with Pickens joining star wideout CeeDee Lamb. According to Griffin, the duo now forms one of the NFL’s most formidable receiving tandems.

The trade sees Dallas acquire Pickens and a 2026 sixth-round pick from the Steelers in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick.

The 24-year-old Pickens, entering the final year of his rookie deal, brings immense potential to the Cowboys’ offense.

After a solid 2023 campaign with 1,140 receiving yards, Pickens recorded 900 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2024.

His explosive playmaking ability is expected to complement Lamb’s skill set and elevate Dallas’ passing attack.

Griffin, known for his bold takes, also pointed out that this trade comes with high expectations for Prescott, who will soon turn 32 years old.

Despite his talents, Prescott has posted a 2-5 playoff record and has yet to reach a conference championship game.

“This is Dak’s last, best chance,” Griffin said, challenging Prescott to prove that he can lead the Cowboys on a Super Bowl run.

Pickens’ addition to the roster signals more than just an upgrade at wide receiver. The Cowboys have also made several other key moves, including adding cornerback Kaiir Elam, linebacker Kenneth Murray, and backup quarterback Joe Milton, highlighting a clear shift in strategy.

With the combination of Lamb, Pickens, tight ends Jake Ferguson and Luke Schoonmaker, and a solid backfield, the Cowboys now boast one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFC.

Griffin believes the move has set the Cowboys on a clear path toward Super Bowl contention.

Of course, it must be noted that Pickens does come with a bit of baggage. It will be interesting to see how he handles himself both on and off the field, especially when adversity hits.

What are your thoughts on the trade? … Do you agree with Griffin that the move could possibly turn the Cowboys into legitimate Super Bowl contenders???
