Jerry Jones Admits NFC East Is Passing Cowboys By

The Dallas Cowboys have made a bold move, aiming to bolster their roster as they gear up for the upcoming season.

After missing the playoffs in 2024 that led to the firing of head coach Mike McCarthy, the Cowboys stunned the NFL world by trading a third-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for standout wide receiver George Pickens.

In a highly competitive NFC East, the Cowboys are looking to stay ahead of their division rivals.

The Philadelphia Eagles, fresh off their dominant 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, remain a powerful force.

The Washington Commanders, led by their young quarterback Jayden Daniels, made an impressive run to the NFC Championship Game.

While the New York Giants may finally be getting back on the winning track following their impressive draft performance.

The NFC East is always unpredictable, and it’s been over two decades since any team successfully repeated as division champions.

In the wake of the trade, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made some telling comments about the team’s future plans.

It seems the Cowboys are finally ready to go “all-in,” as Jones has long discussed.

ā€œWe’re very aware of the challenges we have in our division in the center of the line,ā€ Jones said. ā€œYou look at our division, and you got to start at beating the guys in our division and winning.ā€

Jones’ comments suggest a sense of urgency in Dallas as the team looks to make a Super Bowl run in the next two to three years.

ā€œThe train has not left the station if improvement is needed from what we’ve got on campus,ā€ Jones added.

ā€œWe don’t have to be through at receiver in any way. As a matter of fact, as we got on into the draft, the likelihood of creating competition if we did go out and did something, that’s important to us in free agency.”

Jones also emphasized the possibility of further acquisitions, hinting that the Cowboys could make another move if the opportunity arises.

ā€œI’m just giving you the benefit of the mentality there – definitely the idea that we could, if the opportunity comes up and we want to, we can address this in free agency.ā€

As the offseason progresses, the Cowboys’ future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: they are determined to improve and make a push for the top of the NFC East and, ultimately, a Super Bowl title.

Having said that, Jones knows that the NFC East is only getting tougher.

Just how concerned should the Cowboys be that all three of their division rivals could be blowing past them???
