As the dust settles from the 2025 NFL Draft and the second wave of free agency kicks into gear, one name continues to linger in the air: Von Miller. While he may not possess the same explosive prowess he showcased during his prime, the seasoned veteran still has a lot to offer, particularly in specialized roles. With fewer years left in his football journey, it stands to reason that Miller will be on the lookout for a team positioned to contend for a championship.

With that in mind, the Philadelphia Eagles emerge as a compelling landing spot for Miller.

Now, it’s important to clarify that this isn’t a definitive report but rather an informed prediction based on the current landscape. The Eagles are in a unique position where they aren’t necessarily desperate for an additional pass rusher. However, one consistent theme surrounding this franchise, especially under the leadership of Howie Roseman, has been the importance of maintaining a robust pass-rush rotation.

At first glance, the Eagles appear to have a strong group with players like Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith, Azeez Ojulari, and Bryce Huff. Yet, recent rumors about Huff being available for trade raise questions about the certainty of that depth heading into the 2025 season. The uncertainty surrounding Huff could make the addition of an experienced player like Miller even more appealing.

Bringing in Von Miller would not only add depth but also inject significant experience into the Eagles’ pass rush. With six sacks in just 13 games last season, he’s proven that he can still get to the quarterback, and joining a talented rotation could extend his effectiveness throughout the season.

What’s more, Miller’s familiarity with the defensive scheme implemented by Vic Fangio—who coached him during their time together with the Denver Broncos—could prove invaluable. His understanding of Fangio’s strategies can facilitate a smoother transition, while also allowing him to mentor younger pass rushers on the Eagles’ roster. His wealth of experience would be an important asset, enriching the development of the next generation of edge rushers in Philadelphia.

At 36 years old and having yet to find a new home, Miller’s situation feels like a perfect fit waiting to happen with the Eagles. With a solid framework in place and aspirations of returning to championship contention, Philadelphia could very well become the ideal destination for this seasoned pro. As the offseason unfolds, all eyes will be on whether these two paths will align.
