Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is setting his sights high as the NFL Draft approaches, drawing inspiration from Saquon Barkley’s standout season with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In a recent article for The Players’ Tribune, Jeanty expressed his hope that Barkley’s success will spark a renewed interest in running backs, positioning him as a future star in the league.

Jeanty, who has long admired Barkley, made a bold comparison between the two in his article, reflecting on the powerful impact of Barkley’s remarkable 2024 season.

“Most people, they watched the Eagles win the Super Bowl a couple of months ago, they watched Saquon run through everyone in the playoffs, and they thought to themselves, This is amazing,” Jeanty wrote.

“I watched it and I thought something different… I thought, That can be me.”

The Boise State standout structured his article as a direct message to NFL general managers, outlining his aspirations for his future career.

He emphasized that Barkley is the ideal comparison for his own potential.

“If you pick me, it’s simple: I’m coming to your franchise to do what Saquon and the Eagles just did… I’m coming to win, big, soon,” Jeanty added.

With the draft rapidly approaching, Jeanty is making it clear that he’s ready to bring the same level of success to the NFL that Barkley achieved in his remarkable season with the Eagles.

Of course, that’s setting the bar quite high – but you have to love the confidence.

What are your thoughts on Jeanty’s comments? … Can he indeed be Saquon Barkley 2.0???
