New Details Emerge On Potential Tyreek Hill Trade

Miami Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier made it clear that trading star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is not something the team is currently considering.

While the Dolphins are actively seeking a trade partner for Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Grier emphasized that moving on from Hill would require a significant offer.

When asked whether trading the All-Pro receiver was a possibility, Grier outlined his high asking price, stating, “That is not anything that we’re pursuing. Who knows? If someone wants to come and give me two first-round picks, we’ll consider it.”

This statement came amid growing speculation about the futures of several key players on the Dolphins roster.

Hill, a crucial figure in Miami’s offense, has been named a first-team All-Pro in two of his three seasons with the team.

However, his performance dipped in 2024, when he recorded 81 receptions for 959 yards and six touchdowns – a notable decrease from his dominant 2023 campaign, where he posted 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns.

In 2022, Hill recorded 119 receptions for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns.

There’s also major concern over Hill’s continued off-field troubles which have caused significant headaches for the organization.

The Dolphins acquired Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs in March 2022 in a blockbuster trade that included a first-round pick, a second-round pick, two fourth-round picks, and a sixth-round pick.

Hill, now 31, has $26.85 million in guaranteed money remaining on his contract for the 2025 season, with his 2026 season partially guaranteed.

Given his looming contract extension, it’s clear that the Dolphins are focused on keeping him long-term, rather than allowing him to depart.

In summary, while Grier’s comments suggest that a trade involving Hill is highly unlikely, the possibility remains – albeit under very specific and extraordinary circumstances.

As the Dolphins continue to reshape their roster, it appears Hill will be a key figure in their plans moving forward.

Having said that, anything is possible and there’s a chance that Grier’s asking price could come down if a team is serious about trading for Hill.

What are your thoughts on Miami’s stance? … Would they be better off looking for a trade partner, even if they have to settle for less in return than they were hoping for???
