Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Outlook Takes Shocking Turn

Just months ago, Shedeur Sanders was considered a potential top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Now, with the draft just weeks away, the odds suggest a very different story – and possibly a much longer wait for the Colorado quarterback on draft night.

According to the latest odds from major sportsbooks, Sanders’ chances of hearing his name called first overall have sharply declined. DraftKings lists Sanders at +3500 to go No. 1, while FanDuel places him even lower at +6500.

The betting market has also grown more cautious about Sanders landing within the top five. On DraftKings, the New Orleans Saints are currently the favorites to select him at +300, while FanDuel offers slightly longer odds at +270.

Of course, those odds would suggest quite a nose-dive for Sanders being that the Saints don’t pick until No. 9.

Behind the Saints, the New York Giants hold the next-best odds: +350 on DraftKings and +370 on FanDuel. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns trail far behind, each with odds north of +600 at both books.

Meanwhile, Miami’s Cam Ward has surged to the front of the race for the No. 1 overall pick, currently held by the Tennessee Titans.

And if early odds prove predictive, the Browns could use the second pick on Colorado’s two-way star Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter.

While quarterback remains a glaring need for some teams, the picture is growing murkier – especially for Sanders.

The Giants, who hold the No. 3 pick, appear less likely to target a quarterback after adding veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter added to that uncertainty last week, saying he has “more of a feeling” that Big Blue will go in a different direction on draft day.

Still, FanDuel keeps Sanders in the mix for a top-five slot, giving him +165 odds to go within the first handful of picks.

But with the Patriots and Jaguars currently holding picks No. 4 and No. 5, it’s extremely unlikely that either one of those franchise will pursue a quarterback.

And despite their own quarterback questions, the Las Vegas Raiders don’t seem to be part of the Sanders sweepstakes either. Oddsmakers instead see the Silver and Black going after dynamic Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

One possible wild card? The New York Jets, who currently hold the No. 7 pick.

While they just added Justin Fields on a two-year deal, the long-term future remains uncertain – and Sanders’ skill set could intrigue them. But the more likely outcome, based on betting movement, may come a couple of picks later.

If Sanders is still on the board at No. 9, the Saints might be ready to strike.

New Orleans is viewed as the most likely team to land the Colorado star, and could even make a move up the board to secure Derek Carr’s potential successor.

With buzz building and draft day approaching, Sanders remains one of the most talked-about names in the class – but exactly when he comes off the board is a growing mystery.

What are your thoughts on the Saints being viewed as the favorites to land Sanders???
