Caitlin Clark, known for her incredible shooting ability on the basketball court, found that her marksmanship didn’t quite translate to the arcade when she went head-to-head with Eli Manning in a Pop-A-Shot challenge.
The two were featured in a new episode of The Eli Manning Show, where Clark, fresh off a stellar rookie season in the WNBA, took on the New York Giants legend in the classic arcade game.
Before the game started, Clark was quick to warn the cameras, admitting that she wasn’t particularly good at Pop-A-Shot.
The results were exactly what Clark had predicted. When the buzzer sounded, Manning won with a score of 76-51, setting a new record for the machine.
“Wow,” Clark reacted. “Give it up for Eli. That was actually really good.”
Manning, always the joker, responded with a grin: “I’ve been practicing a lot. I’ve been here all week.”
The future Hall of Famer continued: “I think this is the first time I’ve actually beaten a guest in something on my own show,” to which Clark laughed and replied, “I’m honored.”
Before Manning became a two-time Super Bowl champion, he was a standout two-sport athlete at Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, where he dominated in both football and basketball.
Despite the heartbreaking defeat, Clark remains the biggest superstar in women’s basketball.
Fresh off winning the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and leading the Indiana Fever to their first playoff appearance in eight years, Clark is gearing up for a big 2025 season.
The Fever made several key offseason moves, further strengthening their chances at a title run.
Reflecting on her team’s changes, Clark said: “I think it’ll be a lot of fun to get in the gym and be with my teammates and just start putting the pieces together and see what works, what doesn’t work.
“We’re gonna have a lot of different options to do a lot of different things and I think that’s what’s super exciting about it all.”
We’ll see how things turn out for Clark on the court this coming season.
But for the time being, Eli Manning can hold his dominant Pop-A-Shot victory over Caitlin’s head. (For what that’s worth.)
Are you surprised Eli won the challenge so smoothly???
