Russell Wilson’s Likely Next Team Is An Interesting One

As the NFL shifts its focus to free agency, several high-profile players are anticipated to change teams, and one of the most intriguing names is Russell Wilson.

After a single season in Pittsburgh, Wilson could be on the move again, potentially landing with his fourth NFL team in his likely Hall of Fame career.

Wilson spent the first 10 years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, followed by two seasons with the Denver Broncos, and most recently, one year with the Steelers in 2024.

While his best days are undoubtedly behind him, Wilson is still more than capable of playing at a high level, especially in the right situation.

In a bold prediction, Zack Cook of SportsGrid speculated that Wilson will make the move to the New Orleans Saints when free agency begins on March 12.

Wilson’s time with the Steelers was marked by both highs and lows.

After missing the early part of the season due to injury, he went on to start 11 games during the regular season, completing 63.7% of his passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

In Pittsburgh’s lone playoff game, a 28-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Wilson showed flashes of his former self, finishing with 270 yards and two touchdowns on 20-of-29 passing.

A potential move to New Orleans would put Wilson under the guidance of Kellen Moore, the Saints’ newly appointed head coach.

The team parted ways with Dennis Allen in November after a disappointing 5-12 season.

Moore, who previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, played a pivotal role in helping the team secure a 40-22 Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Of course, the Saints need to figure out what they want to do with current quarterback Derek Carr.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of Wilson ending up in New Orleans? … Just how much does he have left in the tank???
