One of the most unexpected rivalries took another dramatic turn during the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl parade, as safety CJ Gardner-Johnson continued his public feud with pop star Taylor Swift and her devoted fanbase, the “Swifties.”
Today, Gardner-Johnson drew attention by wearing a hoodie featuring an explicit message aimed at Swift’s fans.
The sweatshirt read: “Swifties Can LIX My B***s,” an NSFW play on words referencing the Eagles’ recent Super Bowl LIX victory.
This latest jab follows a week of online clashes between the outspoken defensive back and Swift’s massive following.
The dispute began shortly after Philadelphia’s championship win, when Gardner-Johnson took to Instagram to taunt Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who has been dating Swift for over a year.
Posting a photo of himself mocking Kelce on the field after the Eagles’ win, Gardner-Johnson captioned it: “Should’ve Stayed [with] that thick sh*t.”
That comment was of course a reference to Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, who was in attendance for the game and celebrated on the field post-victory.
Swift’s fans quickly retaliated by targeting Gardner-Johnson’s mother’s former restaurant, King’s Grill, in Rockledge, Florida.
Though the establishment had already shut down the previous month, Swifties flooded its Yelp page with hundreds of one-star reviews.
Gardner-Johnson’s mother, Delatron Johnson, has since opened a new restaurant, Village Bier Garten, in Cocoa, Florida.
Despite the backlash, Gardner-Johnson seems unfazed, with his provocative parade attire likely to stir up even more controversy. (Which you know he loves.)
Given his history, however, it appears the Eagles’ safety has no intention of backing down anytime soon.
What are your thoughts on Gardner-Johnson’s vulgar shot at Swift???
