Stunning Stat Shows Just How Historic The 2024 Lions Are

The Detroit Lions made history this past Sunday with a commanding 52-6 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking their third win this season by at least 38 points.

Amazingly, no other team in NFL history has more than that.

While seven teams have previously managed three wins by 38 or more points in a single season (including postseason games), none have reached the elusive fourth.

With seven regular-season games remaining and likely playoff matchups ahead, Detroit has a chance to stand alone in the record books.

The Lions’ dominant showing against Jacksonville wasn’t an isolated incident.

They own the three largest blowouts in the NFL this season, including a 52-14 rout of the Tennessee Titans and a 47-9 demolition of the Dallas Cowboys.

Notably, no other NFL team has won a game this year by such a wide margin.

The Lions’ incredible performances have propelled them to a +159 point differential for the season, meaning they’ve outscored opponents by more than two touchdowns per game on average.

As we all know, this type of dominance isn’t supposed to happen at the NFL level.

This all speaks to the extraordinary job that head coach Dan Campbell has done in Detroit.

Once the laughingstock of the league (sorry for the reminder), Campbell has turned the Lions into an absolute force.

Of course, regular season success – and even dominance – is not always an indicator of how well a team will do in the playoffs.

Having said that, this Lions team seems to be on a mission this season.

They have arguably the tightest team in the entire league and MCDC has them believing they can (and will) accomplish anything and everything.

With the postseason approaching, the Lions have a real opportunity to further cement their legacy as one of the most dominant teams in NFL history.

But again, as we all know, if they don’t finish the job and win the Super Bowl, all of these great statistics and records will mean absolutely nothing.

What are your thoughts on the 2024 Lions? … Will they be the ones hoisting the Lombardi Trophy come February???
