Shedeur Sanders Seemingly Reveals What NFL Team He Wants To Play For

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the top players picked in next April’s NFL Draft.

How he performs the rest of the season for the Buffaloes will either improve or hurt his draft stock. Regardless, he’s thought highly of by many teams, and it will be fascinating to see where he ends up.

Last week, Sanders attended a WNBA playoff showdown between the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces, where he had a noteworthy encounter with Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis.

During their meeting, Davis hinted at a potential future for Sanders in Las Vegas.

“Who knows? You might be home right now,” Davis told Shedeur, sparking buzz about the Raiders’ interest in the young quarterback. The exchange was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.

This conversation comes on the heels of recent comments made by Shedeur’s father, Colorado Buffaloes head coach (and NFL legend) Deion Sanders.

Deion mentioned that he’s hopeful the Raiders might leave their quarterback position open (big picture wise), and position themselves to select Shedeur in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Deion had previously spoken at length about the possibility of his son joining the Raiders. During Big 12 Media Days at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, he commented on the idea of Shedeur playing for the team, led by head coach Antonio Pierce.

“That’d be nice,” Deion said. “I’m not a gambler, so I’m not with all that, but that would be nice. [The Raiders] have a wonderful head coach, and a wonderful president in this organization that I think I’m meeting today, actually. That would be nice. I’ve been looking around the stadium. It’s a nice stadium.”

Deion further praised Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, saying, “[Pierce is a] great man. Great leader. [He] earned the job. They didn’t give him nothing. He earned the job. I love what he brings to the table.”

While Deion made it clear he doesn’t want the Raiders to lose enough games to secure a top draft pick, he wouldn’t mind seeing a scenario where Shedeur ends up in Las Vegas.

“I don’t want him to lose to the point where he has the ability to get Shedeur. Let’s get that straight. I don’t want that to happen, I really don’t, but I wouldn’t mind if, some kind of way, it happens that [Shedeur] is here. I don’t want [the Raiders to lose enough to have a top draft pick] to happen.”

For what it’s worth, Shedeur himself has also stoked rumors of a potential future with the Raiders…

Of course, Shedeur has no say over what team drafts him. Having said that, both Davis and Deion are on the record making their excitement about the possibility very clear.

He certainly enjoyed his time in Vegas and admitted he felt the urge to get out on the court with the Aces.

As for the Buffs, they have a big one this week as they welcome in the No. 18 ranked Kansas State Wildcats to Boulder. We’ll see how Shedeur progresses the rest of the season.

What are your thoughts on the mutual interest shown between Shedeur and the Raiders?

Do you think he will end up becoming a franchise quarterback in the NFL? … Or do you think he’s just a hype balloon who will inevitably burst???
