Some college football programs consistently produce elite NFL talent, but Alabama has taken it to an entirely different level.
Under Nick Saban, the Crimson Tide became a pipeline to the pros, and even though Saban has since retired, his former players are still making waves at the highest level.
This past NFL season, Alabama alumni rewrote the record books by scoring 886 total points in a single season.
That total obliterated the previous mark of 705 points, set by Florida State alums in 2016.
Former Crimson Tide standouts didn’t just score at a record-breaking rate – they dominated the league’s leaderboard.
Four of the nine NFL players who recorded at least 14 touchdowns in 2024 hailed from Alabama:
-Jahmyr Gibbs (Detroit Lions) – 20 touchdowns
-Derrick Henry (Baltimore Ravens) – 18 touchdowns
-Josh Jacobs (Green Bay Packers) – 16 touchdowns
-Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles) – 14 touchdowns (many via the “Tush Push”)
Alabama alumni combined for 128 total touchdowns, nearly doubling second-place Ohio State, whose former players reached the end zone 72 times last season.
It wasn’t just the high-profile skill players padding Alabama’s total. Rookie kicker Will Reichard also played a major role in the record-setting season.
In Reichard’s debut season with the Minnesota Vikings, he racked up 110 points, converting 24-of-30 field goals and remaining perfect on 38 extra-point attempts.
Of course, the dominance of Alabama players in the NFL is nothing new.
After being completely shut out in 1975, a Crimson Tide alum has scored at least one touchdown in every season since – a streak now approaching five decades.
With elite talent continuing to emerge from Tuscaloosa and enter the NFL, there’s little doubt that this scoring supremacy will continue for years to come.
What are your thoughts on the Bama boys destroying the record???
