To say that “The Roast of Tom Brady” lived up to the hype would be the understatement of the century.
Perhaps we were all so blown away by the roast because we thought it would be “safe” and watered-down with many juicy topics being off-limits.
However, that was far from the case. Virtually everything was in play (with the exception of Brady’s hair transplant apparently).
One of the highlights of the night was just how hard the roasters went after Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen.
Comedian Kevin Hart brought his A+ material when speaking about the failed marriage…
“Single life is what you deserve because you had no choice,” Hart said. “Gisele gave you an ultimatum. Gisele said, ‘You retire, or we’re done’ … Let me tell you something: When you got a chance to go 8-9, and all it will cost you is your wife and your kids, you gotta do what the f*ck you gotta do … You know what that’s called, Tom? That’s called real sh*t. F*ck them kids.”
“The world knows that you left Bill Belichick high and dry, man,” Hart continued. “You left him and then you went to Tampa, and you won a championship. You left Bill Belichick with Mac Jones … You f*cked your coach. But let me tell you something … That’s what you gotta do to maintain your happiness. You understand, you sometimes gotta f*ck your coach. You know who else f*cked that coach? Gisele. She f*cked that karate man.”
“What an idiot,” Hart added. “I mean, Jesus Christ, Tom, one of the smartest quarterbacks ever played a game. How did you not see this coming? Eight f*cking karate classes a day … The only bruises she had were on her ass. Everybody should have known it.”
Another comedian to go hard after Gisele was Nikki Glaser.
Known for her sharp wit and unfiltered humor, Glaser pulled absolutely zero punches during the event.
As a matter of fact, a lot of people think she was the best roaster of everyone.
Ironically, Gisele was offended by the roast.
Many people pointed out that she’s in no position to play the victim card based on what she (allegedly) did to Brady.
Regardless, she was reportedly furious over all of the insensitive jokes made during the event.
Speaking to TMZ in Los Angeles, Glaser expressed her admiration for Gisele and begged for forgiveness, saying she tried not to go too hard on her because she “loves her a ton.”
Having said that, she also made it clear that all is fair and love and comedy roasts.
On a similar note, Aaron Hernandez’s fiancé was “disgusted” over the brutal jokes aimed at him. But she of course has an even lesser leg to stand on due to the fact that Hernandez was a cold-blooded murderer.
On a lighter note, Glaser said she doesn’t feel too bad for attacking Gisele since she feels intimidated and “put to shame” over Gisele’s beautiful looks.
“I love her, but I feel like she’s been roasting me just for existing my whole life with how hot she is,” Glaser joked.
Glaser joined The Pat McAfee Show to talk more about the roast and reveal some of the jokes that didn’t quite make the special…
TMZ also pointed out how Netflix made the disappointing decision to edit out the ruthless booing that was aimed at Kim Kardashian during her appearance on-stage.
“It’s only a few seconds that have been cut out … Now, instead of Kim standing there and shooting a look at the crowd – with someone onstage telling them to settle down – it just seamlessly gets into her material with (Kim) taking a light-hearted dig at Kevin (Hart’s) height,” TMZ reported.
“Of course, the actual booing itself was clipped online and spread like wildfire – and just like everything else on the internet, it lives forever, so people certainly won’t forget about it,” TMZ added.
