Ohio State just locked in another major talent for the future. Five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr., one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class, has officially shut down his recruitment and reaffirmed his commitment to the Buckeyes.
The announcement comes via The Silver Bulletin, who reported that Henry has canceled all planned visits to other top programs including Oregon, USC, and Miami. That’s a major statement, as those schools were heavily involved in trying to flip the elite prospect.
Henry, who plays for powerhouse Mater Dei in California, is widely considered one of the most gifted receivers in his class. He brings a rare mix of size, speed, and route-running precision, making him a perfect fit for Ohio State’s tradition of developing top-tier wideouts. The Buckeyes have built a pipeline of elite receivers in recent years, including names like Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Locking in Henry this early gives Ryan Day and his staff a major foundation piece in the 2026 cycle. It also sends a message to the rest of college football: Ohio State continues to be a destination program for elite offensive playmakers.
With Henry now fully on board, expect the Buckeyes to gain even more momentum on the recruiting trail as they aim to build another championship-caliber class.
