On Monday at the Summer Olympics in Paris, Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles failed to win gold in the floor event.
Instead, the prestigious honor was claimed by Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade. The two American gymnasts paid a heartfelt tribute to Andrade on the medal podium, a gesture that caught the attention of millions.
One of those viewers was Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey, who expressed his disapproval of the tribute.
“This is literally disgusting,” Humphrey posted on X.
Humphrey prides himself on being the “ultimate competitor” who wouldn’t give flowers to a rival.

However, as many have pointed out, Humphrey most likely didn’t know of the remarkable journey that Andrade has had to take to get to the top podium and how much respect she garners from her fellow competitors.
Andrade’s gold medal is a testament to her perseverance through significant challenges, including rehabbing from three separate ACL injuries.
Humphrey may not be aware of Andrade’s arduous journey, but he is surely familiar with the injury struggles of players like Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb.
He may like to consider himself the ultimate competitor, but if the Ravens lose to the Browns this season, there is likely a strong chance that Humphrey will still embrace Chubb after the game.
