Though the full schedule wonโt be released until early May, this early Christmas Day announcement has already generated major buzz. The NFL has made it clear that it intends to own Christmas Day, much like the NBA has for decades. Even in 2024, when the holiday landed on a Wednesday, the league went ahead with two Netflix-exclusive matchups: the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens.
In recent years, Christmas Day tripleheaders have become the norm. The 2022 and 2023 slates featured high-profile matchups, including the Raiders upsetting the Chiefs, Ravens vs. 49ers, and Eagles vs. Giants in 2023.
