Deion Sanders is never one to bite his tongue, and this time it was Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons who drew his ire. The Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach went full protective father mode after Parsons criticized a comparison between his son, Shedeur Sanders, and NFL legend Tom Brady.

The whole thing started when Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton threw out the Brady comparison while praising Shedeur’s poise and mechanics. Parsons wasn’t having it, calling the idea “wild” and suggesting people slow down with the comparisons. But Parsons’ criticism struck a nerve with Deion, who quickly fired back on social media and in follow-up interviews.

Sanders defended his son’s college résumé and work ethic, reminding everyone that Shedeur threw for over 4,000 yards with 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions in his final college season. He also led one of the most talked-about teams in the country at Colorado, handling pressure that few quarterbacks in college football history have experienced.

Deion’s response was blunt and unapologetic. He reminded critics like Parsons that Shedeur isn’t asking to be Brady—he’s just putting in the work to be great. And Deion made sure to note that the disrespect won’t be forgotten, especially once Shedeur gets his shot on Sundays.

NFL fans, of course, immediately picked sides. Many took aim at Parsons for dismissing Shedeur so quickly, with one fan calling him a “clown” and others poking fun at Parsons’ own playoff struggles. One even pointed out the irony in criticizing comparisons when Tom Brady himself was a sixth-round pick who defied every expectation.

As for Shedeur’s draft stock, he remains a projected first-rounder with buzz building around where he’ll land. The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 pick but may opt for another elite prospect. Meanwhile, teams like the Giants (No. 3), Raiders (No. 6), and Saints (No. 9) all make sense as destinations. Some insiders are even floating a possible reunion with Travis Hunter in Cleveland if the Browns go bold at No. 2.

Regardless of where Shedeur ends up, one thing is certain: Deion will be watching closely, and he’ll remember every word said—especially if his son ends up torching the Cowboys and Parsons down the line.
