But while their offense is stacked, some experts are raising concerns about their pitching staff. MLB broadcaster Michael Kay recently pointed out that the Mets need to bolster their starting rotation. They lost Luis Severino, and there are question marks surrounding guys like Kodai Senga, Clay Holmes, and Frankie Montas.
Mark Vientos, a young Met prospect, is excited about the team’s chances and believes that Alonso’s return will be a big boost. He’s right. Alonso is a proven slugger who can drive in runs and protect the heart of the order.
