Major Concern In Georgia As Kirby Loses 5-Star QB Stud

In a surprise decision, highly touted quarterback prospect Jared Curtis has decommitted from the University of Georgia.

While head coach Kirby Smart is fully focused on Georgia’s pivotal showdown against top-ranked Texas, the news of Curtis’ decommitment surely caught him off-guard.

Curtis, a five-star recruit and the second-ranked quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, originally committed to Kirby Smart’s program back in March.

However, following a recent loss to Alabama and an underwhelming performance against Mississippi State, the Nashville Christian School standout appears to have reconsidered his options.

Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, Clemson, and South Carolina are now back in the running for Curtis’ services.

(It should be noted that the Bulldogs aren’t completely out of the picture just yet.)

This isn’t the kind of distraction Georgia needs ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Longhorns.

The 6-foot-4 Curtis has thrown for an impressive 1,624 yards and 18 touchdowns in just seven games this season, showcasing his elite arm talent.

He is ranked as the eighth overall prospect in the 2026 class, making him one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.

With Curtis back on the market, a fierce competition is expected to break out among top-tier programs.

As NIL deals play an increasingly significant role in college football recruiting, Curtis figures to be at the center of a new bidding war.

Again, Georgia isn’t completely out of the running just yet. However, Smart will now be forced to reassess the long-term future of his quarterback room.

What are your thoughts on Curtis’ decommitment? … At the end of the day, where do you think he will end up?

More importantly, what’s your prediction for tomorrow’s Georgia-Texas showdown???
