LSU sealed the deal in a thrilling 82-79 victory over Oklahoma, extending the Sooners’ losing streak to five games. Despite OU’s efforts to hold onto the lead for most of the game, LSU’s guard Cam Carter came up big in the final moments.
With just 20.9 seconds remaining, Carter’s 4-point play knotted the score, setting up a tense finish. Then, in a clutch move, he converted a conventional 3-point play with only 8 seconds left, propelling the Tigers to an 81-79 lead. Vyctorius Miller added to the drama by sinking a free throw in the dying moments.
Jeremiah Fears led the scoring for Oklahoma with 15 points and five rebounds, while also connecting on two of the team’s three 3-pointers. Jalon Moore put up 14 points and seven rebounds, showcasing a perfect 8 for 8 performance from the free-throw line. Duke Miles was also stellar from the charity stripe, going a flawless 8 for 8, and contributed 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals in a turnover-free game.
Looking ahead, OU will seek redemption on Tuesday against No. 3 Florida in Gainesville. The matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.
